Institutional Quality Assurance (IQAC) & Accreditation
Self-evaluation and external assessment are vital elements of quality assurance processes. External reviews serve as a robust mechanism for systematically evaluating performance and ensuring accountability. Engaging in this review process highlights a commitment to self-assessment, a dedication to maintaining high standards, the ability to critically analyze performance, and a readiness to address identified areas for improvement.
In 2018, the Department of Law and Justice at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) underwent an external peer review conducted by the External Peer Review Team (EPRT) under the University Grants Commission (UGC). This evaluation adhered to the guidelines established by the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of the UGC, as outlined in the Self-Assessment (SA) Manual, ensuring a thorough and structured assessment of the department’s academic programs.
IQAC – BUBT
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) began its operations in January 2017, following its inclusion in the fourth phase of the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). This cell plays an essential role in supporting BUBT’s administration by monitoring and enhancing the academic standards across all undergraduate and postgraduate programs. As part of its commitment to internal and external quality assurance, the IQAC organizes training sessions and workshops tailored for faculty members and administrative staff, aiming to foster excellence in higher education. In addition, it oversees the Self-Assessment processes within various academic units, guiding departments in updating their curricula and course structures to meet the evolving demands of modern technology and the global job market.
Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC)
The Department of Law and Justice at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) is in the process of preparing for its application to the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) to obtain formal accreditation. This initiative reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high academic standards and continuous improvement. Through this effort, the department aims to align its programs with nationally recognized benchmarks, ensuring the quality of legal education it offers meets the evolving expectations of the profession and society.
